After wrestling with databases, php and config files and other things I knew nothing about, I was utterly sick of the computer.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>But I couldn&#8217;t let myself quit working, so I decided to try something a little different. \u00a0Usually, I draw in pen and ink and then color digitally with Photoshop. There&#8217;s occasionally an intermediate watercolor or inkwash step, but even then most of the color work is done in the computer.\u00a0 But I needed a break from the computer, so I broke out my paints and tried to do a proper painting.\u00a0 I haven&#8217;t done any painting since college, and\u00a0my skills were really rusty.\u00a0 After more trial and error than I expected, the painting you see was &#8220;born.&#8221; I did end up doing a few slight adjustments in Photoshop, but not much.<\/p>\n<p>In other news, I&#8217;ve decided to put the Daily Creature drawing\u00a0on hiatus&#8230; it was becoming more time consuming than I had intended.
